About Paul Balazs

I am an excellent IT leader focusing on Program Management and Project Management. I am a practical project manager who balances the need to effectively manage and clearly report on the progress of all projects under his control, while developing and maintaining trusted relationships with the project team as well as the project stakeholders. As a seasoned IT and business professional, I am adept at understanding the full scope of the needs of the business. I am equally comfortable partnering with Senior level stakeholders regarding program management and portfolio management as I am with managing staff and individual projects. I am experienced in managing projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Most recently, I have led a variety of projects for LexisNexis, developing analytic solutions for the insurance industry. I was responsibile for managing the project portfolios for several internal executive customers. Additionally, I have managed the ongoing relationship with several top 20 insurance customers. My experience includes 20 years at Allstate Insurance Company, starting out as a programmer. I developed a wide variety of skills over the years, ranging from technical skills to project management and management. Key accomplishments include- Manged the successful delivery of a $2.5M software project- Led a team of 26 professionals who handling testing, packaging and delivery of software- Developed testing solutions for a variety of very large systems- Led a $3M project to recover business rules from 10 million lines of legacy source code- Led a team that developed and implemented performance testing tools and practices- Selection and Implementation of a software configuration management system In addition to my career accomplishments, I have developed websites for small businesses and for youth sports organizations. I am also actively involved in a local youth ministry organization and have been a basketball official for 20 years.
