About Paul Carpenter

A freelance filmmaker, videographer and multimedia producer of more than 21 years, I have led hundreds of creative production projects for charities, small businesses, and commercial and broadcast clients. I launched my company, Paul Carpenter Film and Media, formerly Alchemy Productions, in 2003, and my portfolio includes a broad range of production work including broadcast documentaries, corporate videography, content editing, photography, graphic design, WordPress website development, sound production, creative writing and copywriting. Technical Skills and Clients: I have extensive Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) software experience, with advanced skills in Premiere, After Effects and Photoshop. I own and operate 4k / HD Canon Cinema equipment including multiple EOS Cinema cameras, full-frame SLR and gimbal, Dedolight broadcast kit, drone, and professional microphone and multitrack recording equipment. Previous clients include ITV, DesignScene London; Royal Opera House; Endemol Shine / Coca-Cola; London 2012 Olympics; National Geographic; Community Channel; London Sport/UK Sport; Thurrock Council, Total Jobs Group, The Music Man Project UK, Greater Essex Careers Hub, Creative Estuary and many more. I have led multi-camera live DVD shoots at the London Palladium, Barbican Concert Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, Palace Theatre, Old Trafford and Leeds Royal Armouries. I have also written published articles for local press and specialist magazines. Background: I have extensive experience working within specialist environments including vintage and civil aviation, disability and special educational needs. I have also delivered education production workshops for schools and colleges, including SEND students in secondary education. I became a freelance producer after a ten-year first career as a senior advertising executive in the newspaper and magazine publishing industry. I also produced sports photography and worked as a marketing and circulation executive, achieving a qualification in line management. Between 2016 and 2021, I also worked as ground crew and pilots' assistant for two leading providers of wing-walk and aerobatic experiences. Briefing and harnessing passengers to the wing of vintage aircraft, I was responsible for the safety of public and VIP guests and celebrities performing charity wing walks. I enjoy a range of general interests including aviation, fiction writing and flight simulator cockpit engineering. I also work as a qualified aircraft marshaller, load supervisor and ramp agent at London City Airport.
