About Paul Carr
I am an academic at the University of South Wales with research interests centred around musicology, performance and popular music pedagogy. My recent publications have included several papers on Frank Zappa (such as his relationship to politics, sex, musical theatre, gesture and tribute bands), the philosophical position of popular music foundation degrees, Welsh Identity, and the impact of electric guitarists on the jazz tradition. I also occasionally work as a forensic musicologist, having recently done work for Universal Records and Warner Chappell.
