About Paul Chadwick

I am a Business Unit Director with RPS with 26 years experience as an environmental consultant in Ireland. I lead the team responsible for delivering all sustainability, climate and circular economy projects for RPS in Ireland. I have used my expert knowledge on current and future sustainable policy and legislation to influence projects for a range of public sector clients at national, regional and local policy level. Most recently, I was the Project Manager for delivering the first national circular economy policy for Ireland (the National Waste Management Plan for a Circular Economy 2024 to 2030) on behalf of the local authority sector as well as national guidelines for green procurement of low carbon cements and concretes for the Department of Enterprise Trade and Employment. I have also prepared national circular economy guidelines for the EPA on managing wastes and resources on construction sites. At project level I have undertaken detailed climate and circular economy evaluations for major national infrastructure and large scale private projects including transport projects (greenways, roads, rail, airports and marine ports), renewable energy projects, water projects (flood schemes, water treatment and water management) and industrial projects (pharmachem, waste and mining). A key element of these projects is advising clients on sustainable, low carbon and circular solutions to construction and operating the relevant infrastructure. In addition, I have undertaken detailed analysis and reporting for private sector clients at organisational and project level. This includes development of Sustainability Strategies, Net Zero Strategies and Biodiversity Strategies for a wide range of clients to enable delivery of corporate Environmental and Social Governance ambitions. In addition to my technical role, I am also tasked with the management of all technical, financial and human resources within the team to ensure all strategic and fiscal targets are achieved in line with the organisation’s goals and objectives. As a director I have a key role in devising and implementing policies and plans on behalf of the organisation and reporting progress of these policies to senior management.
