I successfully navigated the Information Technology (IT) organization at State Farm, showing an excellent work ethic when interacting with all levels of employees. During the last five years, I have become knowledgeable in several coding languages, especially SQL and XML, and have been able to use the skills to create business solutions. My educational background is in Electronics Technology. After graduating and entering the working world during a recession, I took an entry-level position at State Farm in what was then Data Processing. I remained with the company for over 36 years, retiring as an IT Analyst working with the vendor product Troux, which was used as an asset inventory data base of applications and business processes. My last assignment involved developing custom reports from Troux in order to discover missing data which was needed for legal requirements. Previously during my career, I became the first technician dedicated to Personal Computer Hardware support at State Farm (1983), which involved installation, on-the-spot training, problem resolution, and component-level repair. Driven by a need, I created a simple inventory data base using PFS: File, and reported departmental asset ownership to the Accounting Department. Throughout my career, I supported various PC-based hardware and software products, client-server products, and web-based products. I was always known for superior, personable customer service, accountability, and technical knowledge. Expertise areas include: SQL, XML, SQL Server Manager, Visual Studio, Notepad++, Microsoft Office, Windows, Windows Server, MS Excel advanced features, Apache Tomcat, Personal Computer Hardware, Terminal Emulation.
