About Paul Cyryca

As a lifelong student of history, it has been a dream to bring my knowledge and (hopefully) passion into the classroom since 2013. Growing up mere minutes from Fort McHenry, where the Battle of Baltimore inspired Francis Scott Key's famous poem, I developed a serious love of the past at an early age. Following the great Mark Twain's advice, I found something that defined me and made that my profession. Today, I am proud to be affiliated with two of the most highly regarded academic institutions on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.Aside from my pursuit of historical knowledge, I am a serious student of music (Classical and Jazz), philosophy, and art. I consider myself an avid outdoorsman who enjoys fishing and kayaking, but also has technical (crampons, ice axe, etc.) mountaineering experience in the Cascade Range of Washington State and the coastal ranges of Alaska. When afforded the opportunity, I enjoy traveling or just laying on the beach at nearby Ocean City, MD. As a Baltimore transplant, I have not forgotten my roots and remain a diehard Ravens fan as well!I always enjoy meeting new people and establishing new connections. I am excited to see what the future holds and I greatly appreciate your taking the time to learn a little more about me.
