About Paul D. Edger

Paul D. Edger is a Senior Deputy Attorney General with the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General, assigned to the Bureau of Consumer Protection. In February 2023, Mr. Edger was promoted to be the Attorney-in-Charge of the Harrisburg region of the Bureau of Consumer Protection. Additionally, Mr. Edger serves as an Instructor at the Commonwealth Investigator Training Program, conducted at the PSP Academy in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining the Attorney General in 2021, Mr. Edger was a Regional Managing Attorney at MidPenn Legal Services, a non-profit legal aid firm for over seven years, representing clients and overseeing all services in Adams, Cumberland, Franklin and Fulton counties. Mr. Edger is also an Adjunct Professor at Widener University Commonwealth Law School, teaching in the areas of family law, property, employment law, and trial skills. Mr. Edger has been recognized for his accomplishment by receiving numerous awards throughout his career. In 2023 he received the Michael K. Smith Excellence Award from the Pa Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. He also received the PBA’s Statewide Pro Bono Award in 2022 for pro bono service to the bar and to the community. He was named a Rising Star by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers between 2019 and 2021 in the field of “Legal Aid/Pro Bono.” Mr. Edger was also named to “Forty Under 40” by the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal in 2019, and received the George E. Hoffer Service to Youth Award in 2018 from the Cumberland County Bar Association. Mr. Edger previously served as the Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association's Young Lawyers Division for the 2021-2022 year, and served a three-year term on the PBA Board of Governors. He is an active member of the Cumberland County Bar Associations, where he serves on the Board of Directors as the 1st Vice President, and will become President of the CCBA in 2025. He also co-chairs the Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee, and previously served as the Chair of the Young Lawyers Division. Additionally, Mr. Edger is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Safe Harbour, a local homeless shelter located in Carlisle from 2021 through 2023. He previously served as President of the Widener University Commonwealth Law School Alumni Board from 2021 to 2023, and served on the Dean’s Advisory Council in that role. Mr. Edger graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Elizabethtown College and earned his Juris Doctor from the Widener University School of Law. He lives in Carlisle with his wife Katelynn and two sons, Connor and Aiden.
