Background
About Paul Dix
As an attorney at Simmons Hanly Conroy, my career has been spent representing people diagnosed with mesothelioma (a cancer occurring in the lining around the lung or other organs), lung cancer, and other asbestos diseases. My personal experience involves legal cases filed nationwide on behalf of hundreds of individuals suffering from mesothelioma. Asbestos is a fibrous mineral that has been mined throughout the world for centuries. It works to deaden sound, it does not conduct electricity, and it is resistant to fire, heat, and chemicals. From about the 1890's to 1990's in the U.S, asbestos was a valuable commercial commodity for products used in steel mills, refineries, shipyards, and other industry. It was also used in construction and automotive applications. The property that made asbestos so useful commercially is also the property that makes it so dangerous: it is indestructible. Once inhaled or ingested, asbestos accumulates in the human body and over time can cause physical changes to the lungs, digestive system, and other organs. Because asbestos is a carcinogen, these changes can ultimately lead to mesothelioma, lung cancer, and other asbestos diseases. Asbestos diseases are man-made and preventable. Almost every exposure occurred because a financial decision was made to mine asbestos out of the ground, mill it into raw material, manufacture a product with it, and sell it to consumers. And oftentimes, all of this was done without warning consumers about the hazards. Simmons Hanly Conroy is a national law firm that represents individuals who have been injured by corporate wrongdoing. Our job is to hold individuals and corporations responsible for the consequences of their actions when they injure someone. We typically provide a free consultation and work on a contingent fee basis, which means we are paid an agreed percentage of the total recovery. Please visit us at the link below or
