About Paul Drury

I excelled in Art at school and in the 80’s I started work, producing camera ready artwork. This was the beginning of my journey in an industry that has changed dramatically over the years. Today I continue with the arty stuff at home, on a Mac using Illustrator and Affinity Designer. I’m currently dabbling with html and css, and brushing up on Excel. I also find the time to listen to my eclectic music collection. At work, between making the tea and tidying the paper store, I learned about paste up and plate making. I trained next to be a litho machine minder, and working in a small printers this naturally led to learning print finishing. For the last 14 years I have worked in a busy finishing department for an online digital platform printer. I enjoy applying old knowledge to new innovation, creating concepts and ‘thinking outside the box’, as well as getting the job done. My 35 years experience in print has also involved dealing with clients, marketing, estimating, production management, staff training, stock control, warehouse and dispatch.
