In 2022, Paul played a pivotal role in Europe, leading U.S. Air Force security assistance efforts to Ukraine in response to Russia’s war of aggression. He currently serves as a Senior Fellow at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies. Previously, Paul held the position of Deputy Director for Plans, Requirements, Programs, and Assessment while also directing Science, Technology, and Innovation for the Air Component of U.S. Southern Command. Throughout his distinguished Air Force career, Paul has served in various leadership roles, including Chief of International Relations, Installation Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Action Team Director, alongside extensive experience at the Pentagon and the Defense Logistics Agency. He is also an experienced advisor and startup mentor, furthering his passion for innovation and the global commercialization of cutting-edge technologies. Paul holds an MBA from Texas A&M, an MA from Universidad Antonio de Nebrija (Madrid, Spain), and a BS from Utah State. He is also a graduate of Spain’s Joint Staff College and the U.S. Air Force’s Air War College. Fluent in Spanish, Paul currently resides in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, with his wife.
