Paul has over 15 years of experience advising investment managers, private capital and pension funds on tax matters in respect of investment transaction deals including tax structuring, M&A tax support, tax strategy, tax due diligence and after-tax valuation assessments. Paul has advised on transactions covering Real Estate, Private Equity/Debt, Infrastructure and Capital Markets investments across the US, Europe and Asia Pacific regions. As a highly experienced professional, Paul has significant experience in proactively exploring opportunities with investment teams with regard to viable investment structures, complex situations and local in-country jurisdictional requirements. With an excellent ability to concisely express complex tax legislation, Paul regularly appears before Boards and investment committees to speak on tax matters. Paul has frequent interaction with senior management to discuss the commercial and operational impacts of tax legislation, tax strategic initiatives and appropriate tax risk management. Paul is actively involved in industry body forums discussing tax policy matters and continues advocacy though submissions made to Government. As an industry tax representative, Paul has a strong network of tax professionals and extensive experience in assessing the impacts of Government tax policies. Paul is regularly engaged with the revenue authorities on the practical administration and operational implications of tax legislation.
