Passionate and proactive advocate for creating positive action towards a fairer and more inclusive workplace with a personal area of interest and expertise in disability and diversity in business and creating digitally accessible workplaces, positive about learning, development and change. Proactive and approachable Chair of the Disability Equality Network and effective influencer on internal policy representing the voice of disabled colleagues, enabling changes in business practices to positively impact colleagues’ experiences and the feeling of belonging. Creative inclusive learning specialist, adept at face-to-face and virtual delivery including audiences on diversity and inclusion, employability, management skills and customer service. Knowledgeable and astute Employee Voice Representative, advising colleagues on HR policy and procedures in relation to disability inclusion. Strong interpersonal and management skills, target driven with excellent systematic and holistic problem-solving skills with a focus on quality and process improvement. Excellent project management and prioritising skills to effectively manage time and deliver consistently, right first time. Effective stakeholder engagement, relationship and account management skills, adept at developing productive relationships and communicating in different formats to people at all levels across organisations. To support my continuing professional development, I achieved the ILM Level 4 in Managing Equality and Diversity in Organisations and job shadowed the Diversity and Inclusion team, including the Director of Diversity & Inclusion, the Head of Diversity & Inclusion, the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Advisor and the Head of Disability Advocacy. From the invaluable experiences I have gained, the qualifications achieved and the positive action that I have created, I am now driven to gain a role within equality, diversity and inclusion, encompassing the delivery of staff development training sessions. Ideally, I would want to stay within Shaw Trust as our values of being caring, curious and collaborative are aligned, but, if the opportunities are not there, I am open to look for opportunities externally (hence the ‘open to work banner’!). Due to health reasons, I am seeking predominately remote, home-based working in the West Midlands or North West, living in Staffordshire on the Cheshire border.
