Responsible for the delivery of all of the company’s customers new tooling projects and newly designed aircraft parts, tooling, modified and re-manufacture of existing tooling about 2.5 million pounds this year. SKILLS • Engineer and manage improvement projects – most recent being the new concept of sliding doors on a large hot forming press, as an example • Skilled in problem solving relative to design and manufacturing • Support Engineers with technical assistance and the resolution of complex problems • Repair and modifications to existing inspection/trim fixtures • Management of inspection reports, condition reports and quotations • Produce CAD drawings/DXF files – modifications to machinery and tooling • Conduct tool inspections and ensure all documentation complies with the ISO9001, AS9100 standards • Experience in leading cost savings and problem-solving initiatives • Responsible for checking and signing off new tooling for invoicing • Quotations and working to tight deadlines • Day to day management of a busy Tooling room / Machine shop • Experienced in running staff training programmes including apprenticeships • Setting and operating of machines for production work – Radial Drill, Milling Machines, small and large Lathes, surface and form Grinders etc.
