About Paul Hek
Since 2007 Paul is working in the field of media research for Public Broadcasting companies in the Netherlands and currently he is working as Research Strategist for the NPO. As researcher Paul has gained deep knowledge of the media behavior of the Dutch audience on a variety of platforms including television, radio and online outlets. In 1997 Paul graduated as a Social Historian at the Erasmus University Rotterdam focussing on the development of media & communications in the twentieth century. After his graduation he has been involved in many types of social and marketing research in the Netherlands and abroad. Living and working overseas has given him a broad perspective on people and their behavior. Until 2021 Paul Hek was Senior researcher & Team Leader at the Department of Marketing & Communications at NOS, the Netherlands. In this role he was responsible for the audience research of all NOS broadcasts, websites, apps, social media and other outlets. The main focus of the team at NOS was to translate research-data into relevant consumer insights.
