About Paul James

I'm energised by helping others overcome adversity and lead safer, happier, and more fulfilling lives. I love to see others thrive and this is the golden thread that runs through my career path to date. I want to make the world a kinder place for all - whether it’s by counselling and coaching others myself or the ripple effect of enabling others to do so. I always bring empathy, patience and understanding to the work I do. I’m fascinated by the concept of resilience; how can people build their resilience? And in what ways can I contribute? I also know the value of great training when it comes to safeguarding. I’m passionate about bringing training to life, whether it's delivered in person or online, and take great reward in seeing delegates go on to make a positive difference to the lives of others. Recently I’ve become interested in the power of mindfulness-based practices and the role they can play in helping people navigate life challenges. I’ve led group workshops helping others incorporate mindfulness into their lives and have enjoyed training with the British Mindfulness Institute. My next goal is to go on a full retreat… When not working I love to spend time meditating, gardening, practicing yoga or curating my ever-growing collection of ancient Roman and Greek coins! In case you were wondering, my cover photo shows me conquering my biggest fear (heights) by abseiling 400ft down the Northampton Lift Tower to raise money for the charity Harry’s Rainbow.
