About Paul Kearney

Design Engineer with over 15 years’ experience in automation, special purpose machines, production and product design. I am a commercially aware, perceptive and analytical designer, with expertise in materials and manufacturing methods, who considers every aspect of the design process. I foster team spirit in a sociable and accommodating way, always being keen to learn new skills. I strive to continuously improve the standard of my designs, technical drawings and working practices.Major Achievements:Designed, installed and commissioned production line improvements and tooling modifications to change product output. Following successful commissioning, a program of improvements was undertaken to increase output to meet business objectives with very tight time-scales and budgets. Production capability was safely increased from 8/min. to 24/min.(Greenbottle Ltd).Played a major role in the development of a new vacuum forming and assembly machine, to automate the production of a new concept in liquid packaging. This included the design of a feeding/guiding system and special gripper chain drive for carrying and controlling 80 micron thick plastic film (RTS Group).Successfully realised a pioneering robotic solution for the storage of bread tins in limited space in a commercial bakery. My input included design reviews and risk assessments, site surveys, marking out and layout drawings, guarding design and the design of special components as well as acceptance testing of specially commissioned conveyors.(RTS Group).I have introduced several new kite-marked products for use in public leisure facilities including a cantilever group swing and a range of spring rocker products using new methods of construction. I became fully conversant with product safety standards (Wicksteed Leisure).
