About Paul Knapp

An industrial real estate, banking, governance, and family business expert available to chair or join the board of a dynamic, growing company. In addition to having served on more than 30 boards, I teach Principles of Governance at the University of Minnesota Law School, am a board member and past president of the Minnesota Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and am an NACD Fellow. I have been recognized as a Twin Cities Director of the Year and a Minnesotan to Know by the Twin Cities Business Journal. I previously served as Director of Operations for a 100-year-old family business office with diverse holdings across the country, including real estate, broadcasting, oil/gas exploration, leasing, finance, trucking and warehousing. I helped transform the office into an entirely new management team, infrastructure and business strategy. I grew up in Iowa, one of ten children. My father was CFO of a publicly held but family controlled business, allowing me to see at an early age what it takes to make a family business excel.
