About Paul Lackner

With over four decades in the creative industry, I've evolved from a freelance illustrator in the '80s—represented in major markets like New York, Chicago, Minneapolis, and Houston—to a digital pioneer leading immersive, narrative-driven experiences. My journey includes co-founding one of the first fully remote digital agencies, collaborating with clients such as Oracle, and producing the Wild Trout Journal, a non-advertising-supported magazine featuring top fly-fishing insiders, including Tom McGuane.​ I also co-founded Lackner Buckingham, a transdisciplinary design and technology firm, where we crafted bespoke award winning digital experiences for web and mobile platforms for a stable of international clients. As a Lürzer’s 200 Best Digital Artist, my work harmoniously blends illustration, design, typography, motion and brand storytelling, earning recognition from Communication Arts, Graphis, and AdAge. I've had the privilege of collaborating with brands like Duluth Trading Co, Kinfolk, and Norrona Sport, consistently delivering engaging visual narratives.​ My leadership style is characterized by positivity and adaptability. Now, I seek to leverage my extensive experience in digital artistry and creative direction to craft compelling visual stories that resonate deeply with audiences.
