Quite frankly I spent the first 5 years of my working life learning what NOT to do when it comes to managing workers’ compensation claims – I worked as a WorkCover Approved Rehabilitation Provider and was a big part of the problem. Being exposed to these broken archaic workers’ compensation schemes which fail to achieve outcomes for any stakeholder involved was possibly the greatest learning experience of my life. It got me thinking “there has to be a better way”. Now I assist employers to take control of WorkCover claims and self manage their WorkCover costs, which is normally their second highest labour cost. Employers typically achieve 50% reductions in their WorkCover premiums in 1-2 years. Depending on the size of the employer this can be anywhere between $200K and $2M on their bottom line. I enjoy supporting employers to remain competitive in a difficult economy. Benefits not only include long term additional dollars on the bottom line but also improved staff welfare… a rare win win in todays society. I was a Director / Co-Owner of P2 Group until we sold the business to Gallagher so we could replicate our model across Australia. My industry experience includes Manufacturing, Telecommunications, Financial Services, Property Construction and Maintenance, Property Services, Food Production, Media, Transportation, Labour Hire, Printing, Horse Racing, Health Care, Aged Care, Local Government / Councils and Education. I have a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy and a Graduate Diploma in Ergonomics.
