About Paul Mattis

I am a postgraduate digital developer currently working and intermittently studying in Limerick, Ireland. I have, since October 2021, been a senior technical officer at the University of Limerick's School of Medicine, where I assist a team of medical lecturers, tutors and students with their day-to-day IT needs and collaborate with the university's main Information Technology Division (ITD) in the upkeep of the wider infrastructure. Prior to that I spent a year working for ITD as part of the level 1 support team whilst trying to work on my research. I am on indefinite break from my intended academic research path, which has/had a primary focus on the field of ludology through the lenses of designer & developer: I am looking for a balance between work and that research going forward. In addition to research I maintain, when feasible, a self-publishing venture (primarily historical fiction novels) that I started back in 2011. I enjoy writing so I get a lot from it, but it's also nice to benefit from the effort.
