About Paul McDonnell

My passions are meeting new people, social care trauma informed, eduaction, health and wellbeing for all. My work is social care, addiction and youth work as our youth are potentially our next leaders and policy makers for positive change in our communities. Using my own 22years of personal, professional, education experience, skills and knowledge to help others help themselves. Personal experience cannot be taught it must be lived. I have a BA degree in Applied addiction studies and community development, level 8 in Applied professional social care studies and a Masters certificate in Youth justice, and continue to train and up skill myself (CPD).I've studied in Maynooth, UCD and IT Carlow.I have extensive experience working in a wide range of social services with disadvantage, Marginalised, vulnerable and complexed people including: Addiction services residential, day and drop in services. Intellectual Disability, Autism and Asperger's services, Secure Care trauma informed, leaving care, Mainstream, Adults with complex needs, Children with complex needs, Aftercare both adult and child services, Transitioning care, Outreach, Homeless services, Mental health, Mentoring, Soup kitchen's and Volunteering, I am currently a member of volunteer Ireland, a member of social care Ireland (SCI) for training purposes (CPD) and (RJS4C) group.I am highly qualified and skilled in my field and have a passion to make a difference.I work very well as part of a team. I also work well when alone and can problem solve using my own initiative and at times working as the PIC. I am a confident/competent young man. I'm quite good at interacting with people on a personal level while maintaining professional boundaries. I am a guy who has a passion and a drive to bring about change and to support absolutely anyone who needs support no matter what that support might look like. I have a passion for education as a means to use it to help others help themselves to reach their goals in life. I'm told I have a good sense of humour and my colleagues love working along side me. I meet people where they're at in life. Every person I come in contact with to support, I reach out my hand as a way of showing them exceptence (C-19premitted).This is my foundation to building repors and helping individuals help themselves.I absolutely love meeting new people and getting to know their characters.I enjoy a new challenge and am a quick learner.
