I'm a person who loves to learn and to figure things out.My work is based around building structural design, which has well established design codes and methodology. However I often have tasks related to other engineering disciplines or that have not had much consideration in Australia with respect to regulation. I frequently find that we are having to look outside of Australia for advice.Some examples where the Australian Standards are light on are seismic restraint of non-structural elements, concrete crack repairs and flood loads. Thankfully there is plenty of information in the US and Europe, regarding these. I quite enjoy interpreting other countries' standards and codes in order to understand and compare them.I'm excited about the possibility of connecting with people around the globe and sharing ideas and collaborating.
