About Paul Muse

I am currently employed by the Kroger Company, Mid-Atlantic Division in Quality Assurance as the Lead Produce Inspector and Banana Ripener. My job entails leading a small team of inspectors as we check inbound truck loads of fresh produce and perform daily warehouse surveillance on produce in house to insure product meets USDA and Kroger standards for quality and condition. Additional duties include procurement and ripening of bananas using Thermal Tech banana rooms, train/coach team members, scheduling, and speaking to internal and external groups about inspection and ripening processes. Some inventory control, safety, and sanitation duties. Serve as liaison to several 3PL services. Specialties: Produce inspection and banana ripening. Trained in USDA inspection processes and in uses of fruit/vegetable sizers, refractometers, acid testing, pressure testing, and the use of various computer programs (warehouse, buying, and inspection), as well as the use of RF Hand-held devices. Future goals would be to continue to grow in knowledge and advance in position within the fresh produce world.
