About Paul Pechous

I'm Paul Pechous, a dedicated and passionate individual with a dual major in Special Education and Political Science from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Through my roles as a Policy and Strategic Initiatives Intern at the Nebraska Department of Education and as President and Student Regent of the Association of Students at the University of Nebraska, I've honed my skills in public policy analysis, advocacy, and leadership. I have a broad range of experiences that bring together my passions for K-12 and higher education and public policy. As a Course Enrollment Assistant, I assisted in enrolling over 4,500 first-time students at UNL, and as a Substitute Teacher at Elkhorn Public Schools, I provide individualized instruction to K-12 students. Additionally, my passion for swimming led me to serve as President of the Swim Club at UNL and as a Swim Coach at the Aquatic Club of Elkhorn, where I mentored young athletes and coordinated large-scale meets. I'm deeply involved in community service and mentorship programs, such as the Nebraska Human Resource Institute, where I serve as a Leadership Mentor, and The Big Event, where I directed a large-scale service event benefiting the Lincoln community. I'm eager to use my skills, experiences, and passion for education and public service to make a positive impact in the world around me and to propel those around me to success. Let's connect!
