I am a Microsoft Business Intelligence/Database Developer with 15+ years of experience in Database design and development, developing ETL solutions (SSIS), Product Support, reporting solutions (SSRS), automation, deployment, Database Migration, ETL (SSIS) migration, Single Customer View (SCV) solution delivery expert, creating Functional and Technical Specifications, Change Release management, SQL Performance tuning and improving efficiencies. I have delivered fully-automated ETL solutions – SQL Server/SSIS/SSRS for various clients across different sectors such as Financial Services, Airlines, Retail, Insurance, Travel, Media and Telecom Service Providers, Utilities, Political Parties, High Street Retailers, Leisure and Entertainments Groups. I have significant expertise in writing T-SQL queries, dynamic-queries, subqueries and complex joins and also creating complex stored procedures, triggers, user-defined functions (Including CLR functions), views, cursors & common table expressions (CTE). I also have excellent knowledge of the built in XML, XPATH, FLWOR & JSON functionality of SQL Server. Strong Powershell skills, from simple file handling through to producing cross server reports with Powershell Remoting. Familiar with Waterfall and Agile Scrum methodology for product Development, Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) and ServiceNow. A constant appetite to learn and improve, enhancing existing skill-sets and exploring new opportunities. My strong technical background allows me to pick up new skills quickly. Recognised by other team members and the project management team as the ‘go to’ person with more advanced technical queries and out of the ordinary challenges. Previously worked as a SAS consultant, with extensive experience of the installation, configuration and management of the SAS 9 platform and its underlying metadata. Assisted with development of ETL processes and SAS functionality for multiple SAS data warehouse projects for a wide range of clients. I also developed a number of processes to perform batch tasks against SAS metadata, significantly reducing the time taken on both admin and general development tasks. Co-wrote a paper on the fundamentals of direct access to the metadata behind the SAS 9 environment which was presented at the SAS Global Forum 2008 (134-2008: Metadata for SAS® 9 Programmers) I am eager to embrace new technical challenges and share my existing knowledge with new colleagues.
