Experience and Achievements Profit & Loss: I have had personal direct Profit & Loss responsibility for businesses with a turn-over of US$377m p.a. Strategic Business planning & development: As NYK Line Transatlantic Trade Manager, I managed and oversaw this Trade lane during a period of limited product/capacity expansion, whilst achieving profit within 1 year and thereafter consistent profit (USD 1 to 5m p.a). As the General Manager Sales & Marketing, NYK UK achieved a 63% increase in overall UK throughput between 2006 - 2010. This was achieved by utilising revised business processes implemented and was achieved without sacrificing business net contribution/margins which increased in relation to other regions. Marketing activities: Using Trade & Market analysis to support business development and to suggest refinements to service offering and products that coincided with market changes or changing Customer requirements /expectations. As the Commercial Head of NYK UK Liner Division I initiated a comprehensive database and strategic analysis process from scratch as well as reviewing and enhancing day-to-day business processes. Pricing Strategy: Direct responsibility for day-to-day and long-term product pricing. Formulating, co-ordinating and explaining strategy in-house & to offices internationally. Customer Sales, Negotiation & Relationship building: Negotiating with blue chip UK / European companies as well as Pan-European forwarders and equally comfortable with medium/smaller clients consistently able to maintain historical and increase new/target customer business. Company Representation: Regularly represented my Dept/Division internally at in-house meetings and externally representing my Organisation within trade-conferences/seminars, domestically and internationally.
