I am a results oriented professional with a proven track record of providing business value. I also have a clear understanding of business process and strategy, and the role technology plays in simplifying everyday problems. I began my career early on working for small family owned companies that were run by gentleman who taught me the value of building customer relationships. Of course as a young salesman my focus was always on making money. Although I strengthened my sales abilities and was able to close even the toughest of deals, I always wondered why my mentors were more impressed when a customer was grateful and satisfied than when I was able to increase their profit margins by 200%. When the recession hit and our competitors began to close their doors, I began to reflect on what my mentors had done so differently, allowing us to thrive in the economic downturn. It seemed that our competitors had been doing everything right but after researching our closed competitors on Yelp, the one thing they all had in common was very unhappy customers while we had raving customer reviews. One afternoon I asked my mentor why he thought we had been so successful when the others had not. He told me "Paul, business is not always about who has the biggest marketing budget or most qualified sales people. If you want to be successful in business don't ask yourself how you can make more money, ask yourself how you can better serve your customers. With happy customers the money will follow." Before that day I had considered a sale final when it was paid, but from then on a sale was never complete until I knew that we had exceeded our customers expectations. When the opportunity arose to build a tool that would make this ideology easy for small business owners I dedicated every waking minute to its creation.
