About Paul Tzur

I am a trial attorney with a passion for representing my clients. I have significant experience in criminal and civil matters, having led complicated jury and bench trials and having argued over a dozen federal appeals. Drawing from my background as an Assistant United States Attorney and mechanical engineer, I am a tactical, creative, and efficient litigator who assiduously protects the interests of my clients, whether plaintiffs, victims, witnesses, investigative targets, or defendants. I also proactively counsel and guide my clients through best practices to avoid potential investigative and regulatory inquiries, including by the DOJ, SEC, and CFTC. Some career highlights include: • Led numerous high-profile corporate accounting fraud, securities fraud, insider trading, money laundering, and cartel-level narcotics cases, including the landmark prosecution in United States v. Roque, et al, where I was the first federal prosecutor in the country to secure court authority to wiretap Instagram accounts. • Received the 2018 Mitch Mars Prosecutorial Excellence Award, presented by the Chicago Crime Commission. • Supervised AUSAs as a Deputy Chief in the Narcotics & Money Laundering Section and the General Crimes Section. • Lectured at the DOJ’s National Advocacy Center, where I have taught courses on evidence and trial advocacy. • Former federal law clerk to the Honorable Steven M. Colloton on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. • Former mechanical engineer.
