About Paul Wegner

As Head of Services at Truis, I’m a calm, level-headed leader with 25 years in the IT industry. As the newest kid on the block in the business, I bring a fresh perspective backed by experience. The technology landscape has become almost unrecognisable from when I started in my first IT role as network administrator for a high school back in 1997, and I’ve loved being part of it. As technology has evolved, the solutions it offers businesses have become increasingly sophisticated, but so too have the challenges that businesses face. This evolution means as IT specialists; we need to constantly upskill ourselves, so professional development is embedded into our team management here at Truis. So, what does 25 years of experience mean for my role? It gives me the insight to strategically solve problems for our customers and identify solutions to fit their needs. It gives me the perspective to future proof our Truis business model so that it’s robust and scalable without losing any of the excellent product knowledge, service delivery or customer relationships we’ve built our success on. For me, helping our customers is not just about identifying the right solution; it’s also about the longevity of that solution and a commitment to measuring the benefits and evolving their technology as business needs change. It’s really rewarding when we help our customers solve their problems, especially when it’s quite a niche issue they feel stuck on. The current universal challenge I’m seeing is around security. While we all know cybersecurity is a very real threat, so many businesses assume it won’t happen to them or are relying on outdated solutions that wouldn’t stand up to an attack. Even big organisations are vulnerable to cyberattacks, so no-one can afford to be complacent. My leadership style is built on trust - I trust my team to deliver what’s needed and delegate projects according to people’s skills and strengths. It makes my job easier knowing that the people around me are highly experienced and motivated. The longevity of the team here is a great testament to the Truis culture. With six children, family is important to me, and being part of the Truis family brings a lot of fulfilment to my role. When I’m not at work, you’ll find me spending time with my kids or building Lego - it’s a bit of an obsession of mine; I even have a whole room dedicated to it!
