Knowledgeable Civil-Structural Engineer competent in concrete, metal, timber, and masonry design and construction. Proven Project Manager accomplished in orchestrating construction projects and directing diverse teams. Tactful negotiator capable of influencing decisions and presenting feasible opportunities to stakeholders. U.S. Army Veteran. With my recent transition out of the Army, I reflect on my 4 years of leadership experience as I see new opportunities to tackle similar leadership challenges I faced not that long ago. With 16 months as an Engineer Support Company Executive Officer and 16 months as a Horizontal Construction Platoon Leader I have managed 40 personnel and 190 personnel teams through numerous military exercises, engineer projects, logistical puzzles, and leadership challenges. I will forever hold my experience in the Army with great regard. The Soldiers I have met, developed, and been developed by will never leave my memory and provide me with a leadership foundation that I will always be able to rely on. As I studied for the Professional Engineer (PE) Exam before my October 2021 Exam date and simultaneously provided contract admin and technical engineering support to two USACE mega-projects, I was brought back to the academia that sparked my love for Civil Engineering found when I first started at the Virginia Military Institute in 2013. While the scholastic zeal has made a return in my life, a successful attempt at the PE Exam has brought the emphatic go-ahead to pursue an advanced academic degree and more senior engineering positions focused in Structural Engineering.
