About Paul Whitfield

I am a writer, editor, and journalist whose main streets are economics, AI, cyber security, fintech, and finance, but who has also traveled the byways as a writer of two children’s novels, a corporate writer, and as a speech writer for CEOs of major European investment groups and companies. I am currently Lead Writer at S&P Global Ratings, where I manage editorial projects, write and edit long-form, thought leadership articles, newsletters, blogs.all sorts. I have worked as an editor, columnist, and (senior) reporter at news outlets including The Deal, The Street, The BBC, Marketing Magazine, and Bloomberg. And freelanced at The New York Times, The Telegraph, The Independent, among others. Clear, insightful, and intelligent copy that is both clean and produced to deadline is my bread and butter. My philosiphy on editorial management and production is that great piblications are built on great teamwork and discipline. My creativity and ability to see projects through to completion is also evidenced by the handful of children's novels that I wrote and illustrated, and which were published worldwide by Walker Books (and translated into French). I also launched and presented a briefly-lived (one year) podcast called “The Weekly Baguette”, which provided an irreverent take on French news, and was named a “new and notable” podcast by I-Tunes.
