About Paula Caproni

Paula J. Caproni is on the Management and Organizations Department at the Michigan School of Business. She received her MBA from the University of Massachusetts and her Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Yale University. In addition to teaching in the University of Michigan MBA Programs, Professor Caproni, she has served as Academic Director of the Full-Time and Part-Time MBA programs. She has led and taught for Executive Education programs in Brazil, Chile, China, Colombia, Finland, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, Poland, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Sweden, Thailand, The Philippines, United Arab Emirates, United States, and Vietnam. She has worked with a variety of organizations, including Ascension Health, Avon, Bank of America, Bank Saudi Fransi, Bank Negara, DTE Energy, Exxon, Flagstar Bank, Ford Motor Company, Ford Medical Group, M&T Bank, Metalsa, National Arts Strategies, Onninen, Nokia, Philips, Phelps-Dodge, Management Sciences for Health, MOPAR, Saudi Telecom, Thayers, US Intelligence Agency, and Wachovia. She received the Victor Bernard award for Leadership in Teaching and the Executive Education Impact in Teaching award at the Ross School of Business. Her book, “Management Skills for Everyday Life: The Practical Coach” is now in its third edition and is available in 3 languages. She has also written a book, The Science of Success: What Researchers Know that You Should Know. Over people have taken her online Coursera course, The Science of Success, and it has been translated into Arabic. The course was selected by the MBA-oriented magazine, Poets and Quants, as the best MOOC (online course) in October 2017. She has presented her research at several conferences in the U.S. and abroad. Her article, “Work Life Balance: You Can’t Get There From Here” was awarded the McGregor Award by the Journal of Applied Behavioral Science.
