Background
About Paula Gabbert
My love of programming started when I was in high school and was offered the opportunity to "play around" with a computer. This passion continued to develop at Goucher College where I majored in Computer Science and the University of Virginia where I completed a PhD in Systems Engineering. I would spend the next 30 years in high education teaching computer science, with an 8 year stint as Associate Academic Dean. I started Paula Gabbert Coaching in May 2022 to provide life coaching to students and their families in college. I focus on coaching young adults from the college search. college life. and early career. You might wonder how my initial love of programming led to my new passion for coaching! I love working with students and young adults so my coaching allows me to continue to impact the lives of young adults in a more personalized way. Programming exhibits my love of problem solving, brainstorming, and all things related to learning. I love learning about the lives of young adults, hearing their stories, brainstorming ideas, and helping them discover solutions and strategies for reaching their goals. I am an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) from ICF and a CTEDU Professional Certified Academic Life Coach.
