About Paula Husband

30 + incredibly successful and exciting years leading and inspiring large dynamic teaching teams in the delivery of inspirational TLA and in supporting thousands of young people through academic and vocational qualifications. A strong believer in the power of education and training to overcome disadvantage, create opportunity and empower people to achieve life changing qualifications and experience to shape a better future. I am driven by inspiring a love for teaching and learning to ensure our young people are confident in taking on the challenges in learning and assessment to achieve highly. I ensure students experience wider enrichment experiences, engage in the complexity of the world around us to be prepared for the transition to university or employment. I have had the pleasure of supporting learning visits and exchanges to Belgium, France, Ireland, Portugal Spain and Sweden. I have always valued an enriched education with learning beyond the classroom and curriculum. I have supported learners in developing a life vision and in crafting university and employment search and applications. I build technical ICT skills into learning, encouraging the use of supportive software. I am a strong believer in the power of financial literacy to personal well-being and have run qualifications (IFS) and short courses to promote this. I interleave current affairs snd topical news events into teaching to teaching notably to develop engagement with fundamental values and FREDIE. I am a strong believer in the power of CPD and reflective practice to enhance professional development, attending seminars, researching best practice and engaging with examining: sharing this with my teams. For 25 years I have worked in collaborative growth via teacher observation, feedbak and support to ensure best practice is embedded I have mentored and coached teachers and trainees to craft their skills to become confident successful professional practitioners and experts in this field. I am also an experienced examiner team leader and former Principal Examiner with 30 years experience of marking GCSE to degree papers. Having led over 50 staff and students to be their best selves: undertaken at least highly successful faculty OFSTEDs and at least eight significant curriculum changes, I have lived and loved leading on teaching, learning and assessment and continue to value it’s importance for every young person.
