About Paula Trachy

In the years that I have worked in the Canadian Public Service, I have learned that adaptability is a critical requirement as, regardless of the number of regulations that are put in place, there will always be a circumstance that needs to be resolved, which has not been contemplated in the regulations. Working in collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders, over the years I have been able to successfully innovate solutions to complex problems, such as:* Redesign the assessment tools to mitigate against regional and systemic barrier to participation in a recruitment process;* Redesign internal processes to better facilitate industry compliance with regulatory requirements;* Redesign international contracting processes to allow for greater flexibility in the security measures used to protect "personal information";* Negotiate international arrangements to allow industry better access to government contracts; and * Achieve significant economies of scale in negotiations with health care providers.
