About Paxton Mayer

Growing up in Ottawa, I have always understood the importance of a well-working government. Since my Bachelors of Commerce in Marketing and International Management, I have gained ample experience working with and within the Government of Canada. This experience sparked my interest in how Canada can affect the global political sphere. Currently, I am working towards my Ph.D. in International Conflict Management and Resolution with a focus on deterring fauna crime and the illegal wildlife trade. I am also a Senior Policy Advisor at Public Safety Canada, where I am responsible for developing policy to strengthen Canada’s cyber security. Previously, I was a Senior Risk and Data Analyst at Global Affairs Canada, where I was responsible for assessing and advising on the security and emergency management risks to Canadians and Canadian assets abroad. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, reading, pottery, and photography.
