About Payton Millinor

For nearly two decades, I have thrived in diverse educational roles across public and private settings, serving as an educator, teacher-leader, college counselor, program coordinator, and administrator. From the outset, I’ve been driven by a passion for student empowerment and achievement. As an English teacher, I cultivated an engaging and supportive learning environment. My commitment to student success is reflected in impressive student achievement metrics and consistently high TKES ratings. I transcended traditional teaching by designing innovative curricula, interdisciplinary projects, and differentiated assessments, ensuring every student's opportunity to thrive. Building upon this pedagogical foundation, I've demonstrated a knack for logistical and programmatic leadership. I’m uniquely equipped with a comprehensive understanding of curriculum across all domains. My humanities background, coupled with a practical knowledge of the quantitative disciplines, allows me to see the interconnectedness of a student's education. In both teacher-leader and administrative roles, I’ve skillfully designed specialized curriculum and developed effective master and individual student schedules. My experience extends to fiscal management and community engagement. My success in securing funding included authoring a successful Title 1 application and independently acquiring nearly in grants and sponsorships for STEM and associated programming. Over the years, I've also excelled at building and maintaining strong community partnerships. My dedication to expanding opportunity and access through specialized academic programs, like the STEM Magnet Program I helped to develop, is validated by four distinct STEM Program Certifications and the Technology Association of Georgia's STEM Education High School Award, reflecting my commitment to innovation and excellence. Recognizing the importance of continuous improvement, I’ve engaged in leadership training from GaDOE, Project Lead the Way, CollegeBoard, and AVID, and shared best practices at state and national conferences as well as through local professional development initiatives. My advanced degrees, an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology with a concentration in Gifted and Creative Education, and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership, provide a strong theoretical and practical foundation.
