About Pedro Almeida

I work as a hydroinformatics engineer currently involved in consulting and software development/support within the water sector.I participate on the development of new modeling-based tools to assist the everyday life of professionals working with urban water infrastructure. My efforts aim to achieve an improvement on how societies manage their water resources.Recent projects and research- Leak detection/localization for water distribution systems. Both constant and intermittent supply with various pressure ranges- Model building and optimization for large scale combined sewer systems- City-scale real-time simulations- Model calibration (various methods)- Studies for applications of early-warning systems based on water infrastructure hydraulic modelsSpecialties:Hydraulic and hydrologic modelling, software development for water management, stormwater and drainage systems, flood modelling, data science, early warning systems, digital twins of water infrastructure, leak detection/localization, EPA SWMM, EPANET, hydroinformatic applications.
