About Pedro Doll

I am a Ph.D. in Geology PhD specialized in volcano geochronology. My research employed a variety of methods including cosmogenic dating, paleomagnetism, remote sensing, and geochemistry to understand the eruptive history of Ruapehu (New Zealand).Currently, I work in one of the leading companies of geologic modelling software: Seequent. There, I act as a bridge between developers and geologists to enhance the usability of cloud-based applications.I hold an MSc in Geology from the University of Buenos Aires, where my work focused on gravitational process hazards in the Central Andes. My research there utilized remote sensing, geomorphology, and sedimentology under the guidance of Dr. Diego Winocur.With experience in project management, technical writing, and securing research funding, I have led numerous research projects from conception to publication. My work has been published in renowned international journals and presented at international conferences. I have also been awarded prestigious prizes, as the SAAFE Scholarship and the Wellman Research Award, among others.Professionally, I have served as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Canterbury and a Research Assistant at both the University of Buenos Aires and in collaborative projects assessing volcanic ash impacts in Patagonia. These roles have refined my ability to communicate complex scientific concepts effectively to both specialist and non-specialist audiences.I thrive in hybrid work environments, combining remote and in-office productivity, and possess strong social skills that foster collaboration and effective stakeholder engagement. I am fluent in English and Spanish, and can also speak German, and have strong technical skills in Python, QGIS, ArcMAP, and MATLAB.
