About Pedro Pacheco

My working experience has been obtained in a small hand-made rug producer/editor, working mainly for export markets. As in all small companies, I was active in several areas – sales, internationalisation, design, and finance. I did also some consulting. Apart from the more technical areas related to my studies, I developed skills through a long exposure to the design related industries and professionals. Also, this experience and due to the collaboration with different companies on my area and others, I have been exposed to the reality of small businesses, both commercial and industrial, having acquired a good knowledge of nowadays problems and advantages, culture and procedures of these companies, having lived through them as well. Collaboration and team work is essential, excellence, quality and skill in an international market is vital. Autonomy, independence and initiative were also essential for a small company manager. Responsibility, pro-activity and self motivation were, and are, paramount.
