About Pedro Vacio

Hi. My name is Pedro Vacio Olguin, I have a degree in Civil Engineering from UAA and a Master’s in Project Management from UNITEC. I am a member of the ASCE and currently have the position of BIM/VDC Manager in Edwards Electric Service. I have experience in the design and construction of diverse commercial and industrial projects. In the UAA Civil Engineering School I had the honor of obtaining the highest score in the admission process and being one of the best school grades; I was also able to participate in several competitions, like the ACI Concrete Cylinders Student Competition in 2011, in which my team and I obtained the first place in the efficiency category. During the time I was a Student Engineer at SOPMA, I had the opportunity to work on different projects, among which was the construction of the Linea Verde project. My tasks were Supervision, Estimating and Field Reporting. In 2012 I joined Yates Construction as an Intern Engineer to help in the construction of a large automotive project in Aguascalientes; my activities in there were Project Controls, Document Control, Scheduling, among others. I continued my professional development in this company, becoming an Estimator, and then a BIM Operator for the Aguascalientes office. After this, my position changed to BIM Coordinator and started to get involved in different construction projects all over the United States. My work activities include coordination for the BIM/VDC process, design and modeling of different construction elements, clash detection between trades and creation of construction drawings. During these years I have learned that constant, responsible and professional work always leads to the best results. Never forget this, learning from everything determines who you are and where you want to go!
