About Pedro Viegas

Scientist by training and Entrepreneur by heart, I thrive creating new things from scratch and solving problems. Entrepreneur, I have successfully launched a hospitality business in Portugal that navigated the COVID crisis and came out stronger and a lighting business in France, from design, production to commercialisation. As a Project Officer for FSSCR I jump started the non-profit's activities and managed all day to day operations. As a Director I managed a small team and created a new division inside the company. As a Lab Manager, I also promoted scientific collaborations both internal and external. As a biology scientist I have extensive experience in cell biology and molecular biology and worked for many years as an expert in pluripotent stem cells, both embryonic and induced (iPS) and their differentiation. I was involved in research in several different neurodegenerative diseases. I have a great interest in technology, both biomedical and others and I believe it can improve healthcare and quality of life.
