About Pegah Eftekhari

As an International Attorney and Program Advisor at US Department of State, I build trusting and global partnerships, analyze and assess programming needs and oversee effective implementation. My expertise in providing guidance and recommendations to diverse stakeholders to ensure legislative and regulatory framework compliance in the fields of nuclear security, safety and safegaurds as well as chemical and radiological security is tested. I harness my superior communication, capacity building and liaising skills and my years of litigation and advocacy expertise, to provide sustainable and winning advocacy and policy advice to my clients. With a J.D. in Law and an LLM in Public International Lawx I have deep educational foundation in International Law and litigation, International Investment Law and the CFIUS, International Trade Law, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), and a technical background with a BA in Mechanical Engineering. My bar memberships include Maryland, the District of Columbia, and the Supreme Court of the United States.As a former Assistant Attorney General for the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, I have over 7 years of experience collaborating on numerous multi-million dollar litigations in State and Federal Courts, as well as negotiating settlements and appearing at over 750 contested hearings. In my capacity as a Prosecutor, I efficiently managed and prioritized 30+ active cases involving federal constitutional civil rights, employment discrimination, and special matters brought under the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act (IDEA), as well as matters involving consumer protection and enviornemntal laws, from commencement through trial and settlements. My experience extends to defensive and affirmative matters governed by the UCC, False Claims Act, Consumer Protection Procedures Act, and Labor and Employment law, among others.I’m a very strong interpersonal communicator, skilled at forming positive relationships across all levels, internally and externally, to formulate winning project stratrgies. Having delivered expert legal advice and support to a variety of stakeholders, agencies, officials, and employees, I earn the confidence and trust of my clients.Having lived in the US, Canada, and Iran, I have an extremely diverse background which has elevated my analytical skills.
