About Peggy Casey

Classically trained in the art of Couture, I am an energetic and motivated professional dedicated to working side by side, collaborating with or taking direction from directors, choreographers, and teachers; working as part of a team or independently creating new or refurbishing existing costumes for both individuals and group performances. I am comfortable working backstage with dancers and performers assisting in quick changes and ensuring all their costume and prop needs. I participate in all meetings, rehearsals, fittings and performances while having strong ability and experience in hand sketching, draping, fitting, patternmaking, cutting and sewing, dyeing, embellishment and garment construction. Also comfortable utilizing both industrial and home equipment and have experience using Adobe products such as Illustrator for sketching and editing designs, and Microsoft Office Suite such as Excel and Word for budgeting, inventory and communications. I also have experience supervising design room staff and teaching/training new wardrobe department members. This extensive experience, working with teachers, choreographers and Principals of The New York City Ballet have helped me understand the specific needs of the dance industry and hone my technical skills and techniques.
