I am a registered social worker with Social Work England. I have just taken up an exciting new position in Reading BC leading a great team! I am still working until December in Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Primary Care Network. I have also been a warranted and practicing Approved Social Worker / Approved Mental Health Professional for 19 years, and been a qualified social worker specialising in mental health care primarily for 22 years. I am also a Structured Clinical Management Practitioner specialising in work with people who have Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorders. I have practiced for 22 years and have completed my full PQSW, am a qualified Practice Teacher (having also completed my ASYE training), Best Interests Assessor and have also completed the MA Module on Leadership and management in social work organisations. Having worked in both senior and management positions I am committed to Best Practice and anti-discriminatory practice. I enjoy working with challenging situations and am very reflective in my practice. Key Skills: • Ongoing warranted Approved Mental Health Professional • Experienced in supervising AMHPs as a Senior AMHP. I have received an Honorarium related to my standards of practice. • Experience of On-call management duty for an Emergency Duty Service. • Experience of care coordinating complex cases within older people’s and adults’ mental health teams- Experience as a Structured Clinical Management Practitioner - including as a skills group facilitator. This is a dedicated evidence based intervention for work with people who have a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder. • Experience of Chairing a risk management panel and advising on complex risk issues for health and social care staff • Experience of training on mental health issues and the Mental Health Act 1983 (as amended by the Mental Health Act 2007). • Experience of Chairing safeguarding meetings • Experience of regular attendance at Partnership in Practice meetings • Experience in managing residential care service for Older people with dementia - Experience of working as a practice educator with every level of trainee from first year social work students to AMHP trainees.
