About Penelope Knapper

Working within the Healthcare sector has allowed me to gain an understanding of different types of healthcare services. I worked in this environment for several years, the majority of which has been spent within a primary care setting. I started working for a Medical Sales Company, specialising in treatment and prevention of pressure sores, then became a Sales Manager for the South East and London Teaching Hospitals. I had a short period bringing up my two children whilst volunteering with the PTA. I helped my Husband set up a very successful International Recruitment Company. I also set up a Neighbourhood Watch in my Village in response to a problem with Antisocial behaviour, affecting vulnerable adults. I became an Area Coordinator and had monthly meetings with the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team Inspector. I helped the Chief Inspector trial an initiative, helping vulnerable adults who were the victims of distraction burglaries and the effects that this had on their lives. This led to a paid role being created for an Older person Liaison Officer, working within Manhunt at Hertfordshire Constabulary. I applied in 2007 for a Business Support Administrator Role for Hertfordshire Constabulary as a Watch Liaison Officer. I continued to volunteer with Neighbourhood Watch and the North Herts Crime Prevention Panel. After 4 years, I moved to the Safeguarding Adults From Abuse unit for 6 years, working with a team of detectives before amalgamating 4 years ago, with other Safeguarding referrals Administrators to create a Safeguarding Referrals Hub. I am now back with NHW, working as a Watch liaison Office Manager
