About Penne Kirkpatrick

I am a solution-oriented storyteller, passionate about mission driven work, with deep expertise in event production, communications and marketing. Cross-functional, creative and results-driven, I have over 15 years of professional experience in the education and arts sectors. Over 14+ years at the Smithsonian, I helped to build and improve donor cultivation and stewardship through multi-media programs that showcased the Smithsonian’s impact on the world and invited lasting engagement with the Institution. This included the development and production a comprehensive regional outreach program as part of the most successful campaign ever for a cultural institution. Most recently, I provided strategic communication solutions to arts and cultural organizations, and other nonprofit organizations and universities whose missions inspire and challenge me. A team-oriented extrovert, I believe in the importance of establishing inspiring vision and clear goals, and then moving quickly to reach those, while recognizing that listening is the most fundamental way to achieve collaboration. Currently finding fulfillment in a balanced life and the unexpected opportunities.
