Working at a law firm is nothing like portrayals in Hollywood films. I learned that lesson soon after leaving my journalism career to work as a legal assistant at a small law firm that hadn’t done much marketing. The firm wanted to take advantage of my 20+ years of experience in media (11 as a journalist) to help write legal pleadings, plus manage social media and marketing efforts. When I joined the team, the firm represented more than 30 clients across various areas of law. Yes, the firm wanted to increase its roster of clients.
