About Penny Starr

I am a creative and versatile editor, and confidently able to balance my passion and ability in my craft with a calm, easy-going personality. My skills and passion got me nominated for the 2023 Broadcast Tech Awards, under the Best Young Talent in Post Production category. I have a strong technical background, having been an experienced Technical Operator at Dock10 - our ingest, delivery and media management area. I can confidently troubleshoot and work across a variety of software and workflows, and keep a level head under deadline pressures. I have experience as both an Offline and Online Editor across a variety of shows, and am a quick learner to a new genre or style of working. I have particular confidence with tight turnaround and TX critical shows. I also have experience with assistant work on dramas. I am strongest editing with Avid Media Composer, but I also have some experience with Adobe and Sony software, including Premiere, Photoshop, Vegas, and After Effects. I currently reside in Manchester, but am easily able to work and stay in London for any short-term jobs.
