I am a Independent clinical pharmacist with an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion to deliver patient centered health care. I have more than 25 years experience in my pharmacy practice and have embraced my practice to it's full scope. I have operated my own retail pharmacy business for over seventeen years, in a primary care network for 7 years and most recently as an independent consultant clinical pharmacist in family physician practices and speciality practice. My 7 years experience in the primary care network afforded the ability to work directly with patients and their primary care physician collaborating on management of migraine, diabetes, COPD, asthma, osteoporosis, cardiovascular disease, anticoagulation, chronic pain and addiction, including tobacco and narcotic reduction strategies. I continue that practice today as an consultant clinical pharmacist and business owner in Penny Fausta Pharmacy located in the West Hillhurst area of Calgary. I believe through education and medication management patients enjoy improved quality of life and feel empowered to work towards positive health outcomes. By doing so, the burden of chronic disease on the the health care system can be reduced.
